An exciting unveil today: If you’re part of Hyper’s upcoming Season in January, you’ll be working directly with Liam Don and Sam Chaudhary, co-founders of ClassDojo.

Here’s why we’re thrilled to have them on board:

The ClassDojo story

Sam and Liam met in the UK with a common goal: to find a way to help every kid on Earth get an education they love.

Eventually, that shared goal turned into ClassDojo which launched in 2011 as part of the first cohort of Y Combinator’s education incubator, ImagineK12. Since then, they’ve turned it into one of the largest consumer internet companies in the world built to serve kids.

Some quick facts:

  • Industry: Consumer internet / education
  • Founded: 2011
  • Users: 50M+ teachers, kids and families
  • Reach: Operates in 95% of K—8 grade schools in the US...

Shishir is the second, of six hosts, who will be working with companies in Season 3

Last week I announced a new experiment we’re working on at Hyper.

Founders who are accepted into Season 3, will get the opportunity to work with founders who’ve recently built businesses that have gone from $0-1B+ in valuation. As part of the announcement, I unveiled our first host, Immad Akhund, the Co-founder and CEO of Mercury.

This week, I’m thrilled to unveil Shishir Mehrotra, as a new host for this upcoming season.

Prior to Coda, Shishir was an executive at YouTube, where he helped grow YouTube to the world’s largest video destination. Prior to YouTube, Shishir spent 6 years as an executive at Microsoft and currently sits on the board of Spotify.

Today, Shishir runs Coda, the $1.4B company he co-founded that is an all-in-one document product—now used by more than 25,000...

Work next to unicorn founders for 4 weeks

By Shahed Khan

I’m excited to announce an experiment we’re bringing to Hyper—one that I selfishly wish existed in the early days of Loom.

For the first time, Hyper is creating an environment where you’re matched with unicorn founders who work alongside you on product, growth, and hiring for 4+ weeks.

Some of the biggest unlocks for Loom were being side by side with founders a few stages ahead of us. Learning their mistakes. Studying their strengths. Being aware of the potential pitfalls we might run into.

While these unlocks were incredibly valuable for the business, we didn’t start building these relationships until our Series A. Had we done this sooner… Well, that’s what Hyper is for :)

As part of our unicorn matching program, I’m excited to announce our first host for this upcoming season.

Six months ago, I appeared on a podcast episode where Josh Buckley and Ashley Higgins interviewed me about Loom and how we leveraged Product Hunt — to grow in the company’s very early days.

Not long after that — we connected to chat about their vision with Hyper and how they want to amplify the next generation of founders with both Hyper and Product Hunt. Inspired by it all, I ended up joining them weeks later.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege to work with all of the amazing companies in our inaugural cohort (we call our cohorts, Seasons).

I am excited to tell you more about the inspiring teams behind these companies, as well as announce that applications for the Spring ‘22 Season are officially open.

Season 1 feels like a surreal moment in time. It kicked off with an in-person weekend event in San Francisco...
